For over 30 years I’ve been an award-winning creative director, art director, designer and writer. For the last 17 years I have been lucky to lead some very diverse and talented teams of creative people, first at McCann Erickson London and since 2004 in my own integrated agency called ‘My Agency’.
At My Agency we produce many different types of work all based on the strategy of ‘Creating Fans for Brands’. Solving commercial and communications problems for clients as diverse as Time Out, Caesars Entertainment and Welch’s Juices and creating global and domestic success for spirits brands like Russian Standard Vodka and Grant’s Whisky and tech brands such as AMD, Telefonica and Yandex (Russia’s google).
For most of my career I have created powerful stories and personalities for some of the world’s best known brands. In the last 10 years I have also been creating new brands and business, including two casinos for Caesars Entertainment and the next generation of trampoline park for Sky Zone. In 2011 in partnership, My Agency had great fun creating our own kids retail brand called Blott Stationery which we sold in 2015.
Before My Agency I joined McCann’s in 1994 and was made joint Executive Creative Director in 1999. In 2001 was given sole charge of the creative department of 25 teams. Over 5 years I helped the agency grow to become the second largest in the UK and significantly improved McCann’s creative output. My personal work for Bacardi and Air Canada over that period also helped McCann’s win M&M European Agency of the year for 3 consecutive years and Marketing Week’s Agency of the Year.
My 11 years running My Agency and the previous 5 years as ECD of McCann London have given me a wealth of experience pitching and winning major new business and managing and creating integrated domestic and global advertising campaigns across a diverse range of goods and services. However I still remain very hands on as a designer, art director and writer.
